Summer 2014: Artwork
Brooke
by Oriana Lewton-Leopold
Size: 32″ x 36″
Medium: Oil on canvas
Artist Statement:
For these paintings, I was interested in the worlds women create in their own minds. I used the bedroom as the background for this exploration. For “Brooke,” nothing really clicked during the photo shoot until I said we were finished and she casually threw on her outfit. I took her picture right then, and I was struck by her stance and expression – at once defiant, carefree, insecure and confident.
