Summer 2015: Artwork
Exoskeleton
by Rachel Mulder
Size: 80" x 85"
Medium: Typewriter drawing on paper
Artist Statement:
The image Exoskeleton is based on an old engraving that followed me around in my studio for years. This was my very first typewriter drawing. I collaged the image, drew a grid on it, and one page at a time began the drawing. I worked my way from the toes to the head, and it took 96 hours to complete 176 five-inch squares.
