Winter 2015: Artwork
Hard Wire
by Erin Leichty
Size: 42" x 42"
Medium: Encaustic mixed media
Artist Statement:
I had originally intended the words in the background to be subtle and hardly visible, but when I added the hot wax, the words became bold and undeniable. I decided to let my voice be seen; there is no holding it back anymore. I also expected the photographs to be more like silhouettes, but instead you can see every detail of my body. No more hiding, no more shame, no more silence. I have found my voice and I am telling its story.
